Adrian Wong is a director of photography based in Kuala Lumpur. Originally from a small city in Borneo, he later pursued photography and filmmaking at university. He is best known for Bleat!, the first Malaysian short film selected for Cannes’ prestigious Critics’ Week, which went on to win the Queer Palm for Best Short Film in 2025. His cinematography credits also include Plaza Melayang (2023), which screened at the Beijing International Short Film Festival; Dead Tide (2023), recipient of the La Fonte Award at HKIFF; and The House of Brick and Stone (2022), which premiered at both BiFan and the Fantasia Film Festival.

Wong’s visual style is rooted in authentic human emotion, shaped by the unique spaces and fleeting moments that inform his work. Through his lens, he seeks not only to capture beauty, but to challenge, provoke, and inspire meaningful change.
